Box decoration - Art from waste

Box Decoration - Art from waste

I have decorated waste boxes with marriage invitation cards, and table calendar designs.

Things required are:-

Table Calendar designs ( I have used 2012 old designs in which it comes Indian Culture paintings )
Glue - Indian Fevicol
Colors of your choice.

It's quite similar to decoupage, but I have did my own style of decoupage box.

1) First, I have trimmed the designs and borders. Usually table calendar designs are thick, so I just removed a layer, so it becomes a thin sticker like.

2) Pasted the trimmed designs and borders on the box, and applied Glue + water paste as varnish, so it looks like real painting.

3) Applying varnish is optional, but it looks glossy. I haven't applied varnish for this box decoration.
For Varnish effect , you could view Indian decoupage craft -art from waste

Coconut Shell Bird feeder - art from waste- DIY

Coconut Shell Bird feeder - Art from waste

Early morning, my father used to feed the birds curd ( yoghurt)  rice with sesame seeds. we have kept a wide silver bowl of water for birds. They used to drink, take bathe and play with it. On the first day, I kept bowl of water in wide pan, they were so happy started playing and swinging here and there. I hate one thing about crows are they put frog or fish or any other dead species into water and have it. It makes the place dirty.

Messy crows never leaves space for pigeons or love birds.

Thing's required for bird feeder:

Coconut shell - Large ( Here I have taken small one)

Yarn threads or Woolen threads

Glue

old Cd - broken into small squares, and it gives glass stones effect.

1) Remove all the coconut hairs from the shell, and scrubber helps in removing it. Scrape it , and you could notice minute dust from the shells.

2) I have painted the shell with brown color.

3) Take two threads, and stick the yarn thread on the coconut shell. Leave it for ten minutes, because to make it strong don't disturb it. Later put  a knot at the top.

4) I have decorated with Cd pieces as glass stones,. Coconut shell bird feeder is ready!!!!

Indian Decoupage craft - art from waste

Indian Decoupage craft - art from waste

I did this using waste bottle, and left over designs from old calendars.I did this decoupage craft in my own style, and it turned out okay.

Thing's required for Decoupage:

Fevicol - crafty glue

Old or Waste bottle - I used bacardi breezer bottle.

Varnish

color - Pearl pink and base coat color. For base color, I have used white.

Any designs - I used table Calendar designs. In previous year issue, it's about Indian paintings, so I cutted from it.

How I did this Decoupage craft:

1) I have pasted the designs, and then applied a coat of acrylic white.

2) After that I painted pearl fabric color.

3) Applied 1 drop of Glue with 1 drop of water. Let it to dry for a five minutes.

4) Final coat of varnish painted for  glossy look.

My first hand painted Gift covers are sold. Instead of buying gift cover envelopes at stores, making our own cash or Money covers brings happiness.
